Shantih - Role-play Sample:
As she caught up with the raven stained mare, she admiringly observed how quick of hoof she was. Shantih was definitely no slow coach herself and until now hadn’t met any beast, equine or not that she struggled to keep up with. Twilight here however, was giving her a run for her money. She grudgingly snorted in respect for the other fae. Acoustics pricked forward as the fae began to make an apology of sorts. The flame decided it was best to accept it for what it was and get on with it. No point in holding a grudge. ‘Sorry. I’m just feeling a little out of place here I think. Everything is so different. Where I come from it is survival of the fittest. Nobody helps anyone.’ She relaxed the grimace that had seemed to have stuck itself to her maw and tried to adopt a slightly more friendly persona. She quickly sped up her hooves to match the raven femme barely casting a backward look at the simpering fae behind. Like for like. No matter what outward mask this place put on, it was still survival of the fittest. There was no space for anyone to slow her down.
As the second raven femme caught up with them, Shantih noticed her trying to read the pair of them. Well good luck with me sweetheart. She had learnt from a young age to leave her emotions and feelings well below her surface so that her father couldn’t get at them to tease her for not being the colt he had wanted her to be. She could easily appear to be glacial on the outside and on the inside she could be completely falling to pieces. She supposed that was one thing she could thank her brute of a father for, it had gotten her out of many a tight situation. She smirked as the femme threw out her hind legs and tossed herself about. Throwing our toys out the pram are we, darling? Oh dear. She allowed the sulking fae to squeeze between her and Twighlight as they moved closer to their destination.
She slowed up as they entered a small forest that was just slightly further up from the cove. She paused respectfully as the raven femme lost herself in her own thoughts. She understood what it was like when memories took over the present and she wouldn’t want to be disturbed from them. She could sense something about this femme that reminded her of herself not so long ago, before she gave up caring. She knew and understood that look in her eye and she respected it. There was something else going on behind the beautiful mask that was painted so carefully on that beautiful skull of hers. But the flame knew better than to assume it was her business and left well alone.
As the pair of them broke through some branches, a spectacular meadow was revealed. Shantih couldn’t help but squeal as she saw the rich grass and the clover growing inbetween. She hadn’t eaten this well for months. She stuck her head down and snatched several mouthfuls of the lush grass whilst she listened to Twighlight as she spoke. She pricked up her ears as she mentioned a stallion that looked just like her. Now that must be a sight to behold. Wonder why the secrecy? ‘Relation I’m guessing? But of course, I wont breath a word of who brought us to this place.’ With grass still dangling from her mouth, she took a quick gallop round the meadow throwing in a few bucks and squeals in pleasure.
As she returned to stand with the other two, Chess started to prance about, and Shantih couldn’t help but chuckle as she threw out a buck that came relatively close to her skull. She would have to better than that if she wanted to unnerve her. If she didn’t stop playing up like a filly soon, she would have to have words, it was already quite tiresome.. But for now she was quite content to ignore her and carry on greedily snatching mouthfuls of delicious grass.
