He stood gazing across the sea, eyes green and reflecting the rolling waves as the sun started to dip towards the horizon. A brisk breeze due to the cold conditions of the winter clawed at the paint stallion's mane as he stood solidly with a neutral expression clouding his face. He was disappointed, though, that this small beach was so incredibly trashed. Decaying sea life lay on jagged stones and an air lingered here of darkness and troubled beings. Perseus, however, was not afraid. He would fight if it came down to that, and would surely win. Although this stallion claimed to be a neutral, he was defiant when a challenge arouse and refused to back down. A snort and a stream of steam flowed out of the stallion's nares as he shook his mane in disgust and stepped into the cool ocean waters. It wasn't rare that he was alone, but this didn't mean that he enjoyed it. No, Perseus preferred to be around others who may keep him distracted from those ill ways of the world or maybe even get him to crack a few smiles. He was passive, mostly, but certain people or acts made him either lash out or lighten up and want to dance and sing as a care-free foal might. Sadly, he was alone is this little desolate bay, looking across the water and relishing this moment of peace but wishing, pleading, even praying to whoever might listen, that there would be someone in the world he would be able to share this moment -- or any other, for that matter -- with. That's all he really wanted in his life; company.

Halima L O T U S ___________<3
One typically of good nature, I can't even remember the last time I smiled. Laughter and love was the spice of life, what kept me going day in and day out, and both had been ripped from me by my brother and sister. Sadness, anger and confusion radiated from me and now my main concern was to find shelter before someone else found me. Fortunately (or not?), I hadn't seen another soul in the lands though I could smell the scent of others. Dirtied ivory legs carry my thick bodice briskly though the lands, chocolate eyes peeled for any form of shelter. Upon surveying the land before me, I can find nothing but patches of trees and, off in the distance, a beach. Eyes alert, I begin towards the water, hoping to find a cave in which to spend the upcoming nights. I would do anything it takes to survive on my own; I refuse to go running to my brother. It probably isn't an option anymore, not after how I yelled at him.
My mind wanders as my speckled body carries me towards the coastline. I have seen so little of the world I feel as if my knowledge is that of a newborn filly's, and therefore I will not be safe until I learn. For now, a nights rest would be in my best interest but as soon as I have my bearings I intend on exploring the lands and learning. The sound of crashing water breaks my train of thought and my pace becomes more hurried. I have been told of the ocean, but I've never seen it. It must be beautiful; only something of great beauty and majesty could inspire so many words of praise all around. My mother told me tales but she'd never seen it either. Our life was sheltered in the barn, but safe. I suppose that was our trade off.
Before too many moments passed I found myself stepping into the soft sands that edge the ocean. My hooves sink in the pale, grainy terrain, and I watch them as they do. I smile for the first time in months, suddenly feeling a little better about everything going on. I tentively take another step, and then another, watching as the sand slowly releases then sinks around my hoof as I move. Sand. So this is sand outside of the barn. Briefly, I begin to think maybe Alexynder was right; maybe he had a point in his desire to be free. But as I remember I am alone, my gloomy mood returns. I snort angrily, noting that if I wasn't careful I'd turn into my sister, then sigh heavily, already resigned to the fact that I was not. She was probably having the time of her life. Deciding to distract my mind again, I set off toward the water. As I walk, my tiara swings side to side, taking in the beach. It wasn't the pristine beach I had envisioned my whole life - in fact, the beach was wrecked. Confused by this, I glance around for several moments before I spot a figure in the near distance. Without a second thought I modify my path towards the figure and trot briskly towards it. Maybe they'll know how to get back to the barn.
As the figure becomes a horse, and then a spotted one, I begin to rethink my decision. I'm only a few yards from it, him, though, and there's no stopping now. I slow myself to a halt and look at the stallion before me, trying my best to get some sort of "vibe" off of him. Was he like those stallions that paraded past my pasture, heads held high with "confidence" or like the sweet geldings in the near by fence? Brown speckled body tense, I ease my way closer to him, to a more conversational distance, and dip my crania nervously. "Um... Hi?" I shift, leaning from one hip to another. "I'm, um.... Lost. Maybe he would know where the barn was. Or at least a cave for the night. "My name's Halima Lotus, by the way..." I state, giving my birthed name instead of the nickname my family had given me. That was for me only now, for the only person I could trust.

It seems as if it's always a gray day with overcast clouds hanging over the earth when he comes to the ocean. It simply fits the persona of both equine and sea. Calm before the storm, perhaps, but simply neutral and quiet but sometimes violet and sharp tongued. It varied from day to day... It hadn't been long since he had come to Tuathia, and still it concerned him that it was only he that resided in his new lands. The title suited Perseus: King of the Corathus Forest. A smile settled on the mottled lips and his emerald gaze still rested on the sea. He was still for only a moment before his ears flicked back at the sounds of hooves. It's a quiet noise. Simply the sound of sinking in the sand and enjoying it, savoring your time on this "delicate" bay. Yet littered throughout the coast were jagged reminders of death and what wrath could be brought on by the sea. Never forget that. Perseus continues to keep his attention on this equine simply by ears aimed towards it and weight shifting discreetly every moments or two. That was an interesting fact about the King: He hated being motionless. The equine stopped for a moment and rerouted, approaching Perseus in his state of comfort and silence. It was hesitant, almost, but soon (as he expected) a small voice murmured above the crashing of the waves on shore and against blades. He turns to face her, green eyes neutral and simply waiting to hear her case. The faintest of smiles attempts to change his lips, but Perseus stays solid. Um... Hi? she murmurs, a bit nervous. "Hello," he responds, gracing her with polite smile that flickers for only a moments. He goes back to listening for now. I'm, um... Lost. the mare states. A slightly amused light shows in Perseus's emeralds but he stays silent, knowing she's not quiet finished speaking. My name's Hamila Lotus, by the way... And there end Halima Lotus's monologue. Perseus begins with no smile, but his tone is gentle and kind. "Hello, Halima Lotus." He begins in his tenor tones. "I am Perseus, King of the Corathus Forest and this here, this beach, I mean, is Blades Edge Bay." He was truthful and informative, all business, it seemed... "This land in general, though, is Tuathia. I'm fairly new here, as well, but have begun to know my way around. Are you looking for someone or something? A home perhaps?" he asks, letting his questioning gaze rest on her eyes.
