She knew the foal was coming, yet she had no clue where Axel was. He had gone off on his own, and then disappeared. Kayla felt the contractions coming on strong. She made her way to the safety of the Meadows of Freyja, to give birth to the foal that was coming. Sweat already covered her body. She kept walking, the foal was getting ready to come and she needed to find a nice spot to bed down. She hated to do this alone, it was frightening enough.
It took her a bit, but she found a nice spot to lay herself down on. It was a small area, but the grass was comfortable and tall, so it hid her a bit. The contractions were getting closer together. Her child was coming. The mare grunted and heaved, her body working on pushing the child from her womb to the outside world. Kayla's breathes were quick, in out in out. She focused on giving birth to her daughter for now. She would worry about where Axel made off too when the time comes.
She felt the head and front legs breach, she whinnied aloud and took more deep breathes, heaving and pushing more. After another couple of seconds, she felt the foal's body leave her. Kayla let her body relax, it was over. Her foal was born, and she was a mother now. She laid there for a few seconds, catching her breath and then she stood up. Moving over her foal, she started licking the little one clean. A filly. Axel would be so happy, if he was here. She cleaned her till her legs were ready, then she stood. Kayla continued to clean her daughter.
She thought about what to name her. Without Axel here, what would she name her? She thought about a few names, and then it came to her. She licked her daughter clean, and then looked down at her.
"Hello, my beautiful baby girl. Daddy is not here right now, but I don't think he would disapprove. I am going to name you Khaleesi. It means queen, in the old tongue. Yes, Khaleesi." She said, nuzzling the filly. It was a bold move, but in the end, it would be a very interesting one indeed.
