The lush, green Isles had been home to four herds of horses. These horses were happy to live in peace until a small colt was born to the leader of the largest herd on the largest island. The colt was named Hellion because he was a mischevious foal. As he grew older, the charcoal colt grew bigger and taller until he stood a full head above his father. He became violent, and was banished from the Isles. Once Hellion left, the Isles returned to their calm, peaceful existence.
Hellion returned seasons later, with a legion of horses as draped in shadows as he. He went around the herds, culling their young and old, and making their strongest stallions join him. The mares were raped only by Hellion and abused by his soldiers. Soon all of the Isles were under his control. After four seasons of living like a King, a mysterious young stallion, a tall bay horse named Troydarm, lead a rebellion. The battle was long and hard but Troydarm and his rebels managed to beat Hellion and his legionnaires. But only hours after their victory, natural disaster took over from the huge black monster. A huge volcano burst through the largest island and spewed lava to wipe out the majority of the population. Troydarm and the captured Hellion were both killed but few horses escaped the heat but etreating to the sea, the only witnesses to their homes' destruction.
One young mare, a little grey Arabian type, was carrying Troydarms' offspring. The grey mare told no-one and the filly was born into a normal herd trying to recover all of the remaining horses. Troysdarms' blood was carried down through five generations until today, and spread over five family trees. Maybe your horse has some of Troysdarms' blood? Or maybe your steed carries some of the boiling shadows of the dark Hellion.
